Greenhouse Film Installation Guide

1. Determine the laying direction Lay the film horizontally across the greenhouse, starting at the top.
2. Secure the top edge Attach the top edge of the film to the wall or frame using wooden strips or other fasteners.
3. Keep it tight and flat Stretch the film evenly during installation. A taut, smooth surface maximizes light transmission and improves crop photosynthesis.
4. Check the correct side Ensure the film is installed with the correct side facing out — follow the product markings. Reversing the orientation can reduce performance and shorten lifespan.
5. Secure the side edges Fasten the left and right edges to the walls with wooden strips to fully secure the film and prevent movement.

Greenhouse Film Installation Guide (Step-by-Step)

  • 1. Frame Preparation:
  • Before installing greenhouse plastic film, inspect the greenhouse frame. Remove any sharp edges, rust, or burrs. Wrap metal contacts with felt tape or white anti-hot tape to prevent heat burns on the transparent greenhouse plastic.
  • 2. Choose the Right Time:
  • Install greenhouse sheeting on a calm, windless morning. Avoid installation during the hottest part of the day, as the film expands and may become too loose when temperatures drop at night.
  • 3. Identify the Layers (Inside vs. Outside):
  • Critical: Check the product markings.
  • Inside: Anti-Drip layer (Prevents condensation dripping).
  • Note: Installing the greenhouse plastic film backward will result in foggy film and water damage to crops, even affecting those covered with biodegradable mulch film.
  • 4. Proper Tensioning:
  • Stretch the clear greenhouse film evenly to eliminate wrinkles, but do not over-stretch. A taut surface maximizes light transmission and sheds snow/rain effectively.
  • 5. Secure the Film:
  • We recommend using Lock Channels (Zigzag profile) and Wiggle Wires for a secure, airtight seal. Avoid using nails or wooden strips directly on the greenhouse plastic film to prevent tearing.

Professional Mulching SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)

  • 1. Soil Preparation & Moisture:
  • Conduct deep plowing to completely break up soil clods—sharp clods may puncture plastic mulch sheets and reduce their service life.
  • Critical Requirement: Ensure the soil reaches the field capacity moisture level before laying the film. Dry soil will hinder heat conduction and significantly weaken the soil-warming effect of mulching.
  • 2. Drip Tape Installation2.(Pre-mulching Step):
  • Install drip irrigation tape under the biodegradable mulch film, and confirm that all emitters face upward—this prevents sediment clogging and ensures uniform water distribution for crops.
  • 3. Laying the Film (Tension Control):
  • Lay the plastic mulch sheet on a calm day.
  • Machine Speed: Maintain a steady speed (3-5 km/h) to ensure even coverage.
  • Tension: The silver mulch film should be snug against the soil for maximum heat transfer, but do not over-stretch. Allow for 1-2% thermal contraction to prevent splitting at night—this tip applies to all mulch types, including biodegradable mulch film.
  • 4. Securing the Edges:
  • Ensure the burying discs cover at least 15-20cm of the plastic mulch sheet edges with soil to prevent wind lift.
  • 5. Planting:
  • Punch holes and plant seedlings from plant seedling trays. Seal the planting holes with a handful of soil to prevent the "Chimney Effect" (hot air escaping and burning the plant stems).

Drip Irrigation Installation SOP

  • 1. Head Control Setup (Critical):
  • Before laying pipes, install the Filtration System (120 Mesh min.) and Pressure Regulator to protect the thin-wall drip tapes—essential for greenhouse film installation and efficient irrigation for crops grown with biodegradable mulch film.
  • 2. Mainline & Sub-main Installation:
  • Lay the PVC/PE mainline. Ensure the sub-main pipes run perpendicular (90°) to the crop rows, which works seamlessly with areas covered by agriculture plastic sheets.
  • 3. Connect Drip Tapes:
  • Punch holes in the sub-main. Connect the drip tape using bypass connectors.
  • Critical Requirement: Install drip tapes with Emitters Facing UP. This prevents sediment from settling into the emitters when the system shuts off, protecting irrigation for seedlings in plant seedling trays and seedling propagation trays.
  • 4. System Flushing:
  • Before sealing the ends, open the water supply to flush out installation debris and dirt from the main and lateral lines—critical for long-term use, especially in areas where transparent greenhouse plastic heat. Run water until it flows clear.
  • 5. Sealing the Ends:
  • Once flushed, close the ends of the drip tapes using End Plugs or Flush Valves. Avoid simply folding the tape, as this can cause leaks that damage the plastic mulch sheet and affect crop irrigation.
  • 6. Pressure Testing:

  • 1. Preparation & De-nesting:

  • 2. Substrate Filling (Machine Compatible):

  • After use, clean the residues and sterilize the plant seedling trays. Stack the seedling propagation tray vertically in a shaded area.
